Curriculum Scope and Sequence
18 Months-2 Years
The Pre-K (3) Years Old Curriculum allows age-appropriate material to be presented to children where they learn to recognize alphabets and say the sounds. Children are taught number recognition. Children develop language and listening skills as they learn to follow directions. Motor skills are strengthened as they are taught tracing and coloring techniques. Good eye-hand coordination is strengthened as they learn about God's creation and the people and world around them. Music is also a fun part of the day as they learn songs and finger plays. They are taught to be kind, helpful, and obedient. They are also taught to tell the truth and to love God.
Pre K-4 & Pre K-4 Advanced
This lively academic program gives four-year-old's an enjoyable education foundation and a desire to lean more. The Pre K-4 curriculum is designed to teach children in Reading, Phonics, Math and Handwriting. Children are taught the alphabets with sounds, beginning and ending sounds, vowel usage, formation of words and how to read. The curriculum also provides a structural environment that places emphasis on children receiving a healthy dosage of biblical teaching. Children are taught number recognition and how to write them. They are taught in Handwriting, how to write first and last name, alphabets (upper and lower case) and how to write age-appropriate simple words. Social skills and motor skills are further developed during this time. A fun time is enjoyed by each student during Activity Time and Arts & Crafts.
The First Grade Curriculum provides a day-by-day lesson plan for an entire year. Reading is given a great deal of importance in the curriculum, for the supreme aim of education is to teach the child to read and comprehend. Phonics, which includes Language, Creative Writing and Spelling is employed as the most logical and orderly way to teach children to read. Math is structured to promote order of numbers in may different ways such as memorization to build mathematical knowledge and to increase the child's capacity to understand concepts and story problems. History, Science and Social Studies are taught as it relates to God's plan for mankind. Bible is an important subject as it leads a child to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
- Piano Lesson: Piano Lessons are available to all beginner and advanced learners. Lessons are taught by our very own kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Ola Broussard Lessons are $65.00 per month.
- Ms. Sonya's Tumble Bus: Tumblebus is currently enrolling for the new upcoming school year. Tumblebus comes to our facility once a week to present a 30-45 minute, air conditioned class featuring weekly themes and equipment change outs to encourage new challenges. Tumblebus enrichment classes are approx. $40.00 per month.
- Computer Lab: Our computer lab allows your child to expand their horizon in a growing technological world. Our lab allows students to develop typing skills as well as assists them in learning the functions of the computer; a skill that will be used their entire educational career.
